New Waterford July 14, 2006 -Paul F. Garrett, age 86, of 3373 Front Street died at 8:45 a.m. Friday in the Essex of Salem II.
He was born June 20, 1920 in East Palestine, a son of Elmer and Iva Lambright Garrett, Jr. and had lived in the area all of his life. His wife, Lorena Sigle whom he married July 17, 1943, preceded him in death in 1983.
He had been a molder for M & W Electrical Manufacturing Co. in East Palestine for 25 years retiring in 1982.
He had served in the Army Air Corps during WW II.
He is survived by two daughters, Dixie Young of Salem, Paula Garrett of New Waterford; three step daughters Alice Doty of Campbell, Lorna Kuhley of Struthers, Mary Bash of Negley; seven sisters, Esther Jenkins of East Palestine, Donna Huff of Negley, Dorothy Rankin of New Waterford, Ruth Broadbent of East Palestine, Margie Shafer of East Liverpool, Geraldine Sensanbaugher of East Palestine, Gloria Bair of Negley; four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, 13 step grandchildren, 21 step great grandchildren, and two step great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a stepson, Robert Doty and six brothers, Richard, Raymond, James, Dale, Thomas, and Gerald Garrett.
Services will be conducted at 1:30 pm Monday at the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home, East Palestine, with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating. Burial will follow in the Crest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
