Salem - Paul Finch, age 84, of Salem, died peacefully on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at his home.

He was born on August 19, 1940, in Canfield, son of the late Carrol and Ethel Harrison Finch.

Paul was a graduate of Canfield High School and was a steel worker. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1969 as an E-4 Sergeant. In the late 50’s and 60’s he had a love of stock car racing and raced at the Canfield Fair. He sold his stock car to buy his beloved wife, Bonnie, her engagement ring. Paul enjoyed his hunting and fishing together with family, especially his two sons, Bill and Andrew, brother, “Pork” and nephew, Doug. He taught his children how to shoot, hunt, fish and how to turn wrenches in the garage. He loved watching his children compete in their various sports and that love continued with his grandchildren and he was their biggest fan. Paul also enjoyed shooting pool; in 2013 he went to the National Pool Championships in Las Vegas. He was the second longest living member of the Coon Club, and he took care of the club like it was a second home. Paul enjoyed spending time at the American Legion, Eagles and more recently the Salem Amvets, where he enjoyed his time with other fellow veterans. He kept a close group and was loved by everyone that knew him, he will be deeply missed by all his family and friends

His wife, Bonnie Kay Syx Finch, whom he married on April 29, 1967, preceded him in death on, November 23, 2022.

Paul is survived by his three sons, Kevin Michael (Stacey) Finch of Clayton, William Paul (Patricia) Finch of Uniontown and Andrew Shawn (Sarah) Finch of Columbiana; a granddaughter, Addison Rebecca Finch; a grandson, Devon Shawn Finch and a brother, Carl (Ann) Finch of Panama City, FL.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Ann Finch.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm and on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm all at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 12:30 pm at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana, with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating.

Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park, Beloit.

Military honors will be accorded by the Salem Honor Guard.

Memorial donations may be made to The Salem AMVETS, 750 S Broadway Ave, Salem, OH 44460.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
