Petersburg - Patrick A. Lucash, age 74, of Petersburg, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital, Boardman after a short illness.
Patrick was born on November 1, 1950, in Belleville, IL, son of the late J. Benjamin and Mary Jo Bann Lucash.
As a proud veteran he served honorably in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War.
He attended St. Louis University and was a long, respected owner-operator employed for 25 years by TMC of Des Moines, IA. He was recognized for his excellence in driving and safety and was awarded The Wheelmaster award, driving over 3 million safe miles. He was recently a driver for Amerigas-PTI Transport, hauling propane and fuel locally.
He was an avid fan of Nascar and had a collection of memorabilia. He loved riding his Harley Davidson and enjoyed the many trips with best friends traveling the 50 states and Canada. He loved summertime, enjoyed golfing, Cardinal baseball and fall football with the Steelers. He especially enjoyed OSU games. He loved holidays and spending time with friends and family. He loved life!
He is survived by his wife, Judith K. Kerr Lucash, whom he married on November 25, 1992; his step-son, Matthew (Betsy) Bycroft of Lewis Center, OH; grandson, Samuel Bycroft; daughter, Lindsay Romero of Millstadt, IL; two granddaughters, Marissa Romero and Addison Romero; three sisters, Joan Lucash of Belleville, IL, Jane Benesh of Smyrna, TN, Anne Drumwright of Nolensville, TN; and a brother Thomas (Mary) Lucash of Ruma, IL.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Lucash.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine, with Mr. Bill Requardt, Minister and Deacon Lawrence Pasko officiating.
East Palestine Honor Guard will have military honors following the service.
Burial will take place at Poland Riverside Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of the donor’s choice.
