Pamela Beth “Pam” Schweikert, age 72, who was currently living at Sunrise of Minnetonka Assisted Living in Minnetonka, MN, and formerly of Plymouth and Maple Grove, MN, passed away due to a short illness on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at the Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, MN, surrounded by friends.

She was born on December 23, 1951, in Norway, IA, the daughter of the late William Robert and Constance Jones Schweikert.

Pam graduated from Primghar, High School in Primghar, IA, and received her bachelor’s degree from Westmar University in Le Mars, IA, where she studied Environmental Science and Biology. While in both high school and college, Pam belonged to the school’s band where she enjoyed playing the trombone.

Most of her working career was in various levels and locations of the FDA. Pam began her career with the FDA in Gaithersburg, VA.  She furthered her career working as a compliance officer in the Chicago district, and later as a milk specialist investigator at the Las Angeles district of the FDA.  Pam retired from the FDA as the director of compliance for the Minneapolis district office.  She was very dedicated to her job and the investigative work she did.

Pam was a member of The Village Church in Plymouth, MN.  She enjoyed monthly Bible studies in her group’s homes and made many friends within her church.  If you were lucky enough to have Pam as a friend, you had a friend for life.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed listening to podcasts about true crimes.  She also enjoyed needlepoint and spending time with her beloved cats, Hedy and Jaz.

Pam leaves behind her stepmother, Gabriella M. Schweikert; a stepsister, Lillian Zanoline; a stepbrother, Lazlo Hudak; cousins, Janice (Sam) Wagner, Terry (Chris) Clark, Bill (Deb) Schweikert, Sherry Ravin, Julie Wright, Bonnie (Mark) Shippert, Dennis (Linda) Moore and her cousin-in-law, Billie Moore.

Pam was preceded in death by her cousins, Daryl Moore and Jennifer Shippert; aunts, Veldine (Clyde) Clark, Helen Moore, and Betty (Pete) Donner; uncle, John (Irene) Schweikert; stepbrother-in-law, Ron Zanoline, and two cousins -in-law, Bob Ravin and Gene Wright.

Donations may be made in Pam’s memory to the Columbiana First United Methodist Church, 210 South Main St., Columbiana, OH 44408.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at the First United Methodist Church of Columbiana.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, at 11:00 am, at the church, with Pastor Cyndi Midlick officiating.

Pam will be laid to rest with her parents at the Fairview Cemetery in Mesopotamia, OH.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home in Columbiana.
