Nora Jean Perry

Leetonia - April 4, 2005 - Nora Jean Perry, 78, formerly of Leetonia, died at 4:35 p.m. Monday at the Blossom Nursing Center, Salem.

Mrs. Perry was born December 29, 1926 in Midvale, Ohio, a daughter of Emmett L. and Iva M. McCartney Slates and had lived in this area all of her life.

She had owned and operated the former Leetonia Florist for several years, retiring in 1983. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and a life member of both the American Legion Auxiliary, Leetonia and the VFW Auxiliary of Washingtonville. She was also a member of the 8 & 40 Salon #432 of Columbiana.

Her husband, Eugene J. Perry, whom she married October 26, 1946 died June 22, 1996. She is survived by two daughters, Ms. Yvonne J. Perry of Portville, NY and Ms. Mary R. Sevek of Fayetteville, NC; two sons, Eugene J. Perry, Jr. of McKinney, TX and Larry J. Perry of Hanoverton; a sister, Mrs. Judith L. Piatt of Canal Fulton, OH; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home with the Edward Brienz officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Thursday.
