Leetonia - Nicholas Wayne “Nick” Mango, 73, of Leetonia passed away Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Hospice House.
Nick was born May 17, 1952, in Salem, a son of the late Patrick R. and Dorothy Ann Ewing Mango and had lived in the area all his life.
He was a 1970 graduate of Leetonia High School and was inducted in the Leetonia High School Athletic Hall of Fame. He was a lover of all sports and was an assistant football coach at Leetonia for over 30 years. He also coached Little League Baseball and girls softball.
He was employed as a machinist at the former NRM Company and later for Alloy Machine and Fabricating.
Nick is survived by his wife, Doris M. Hilverding Mango, whom he married on May 24, 1974; three sons, Joseph A. (Kelly Thomas) Mango and their children, Reagan, Olivia, Claire, and Caleb of Sullivan, OH, Jason E. (Amy P.) Mango and their children, Grace and Michael of Salem; Nicholas E. (Jessica) Mango and their children, Arya, Logan, Rory, and Nico of Cincinnati, OH; and a daughter, Kathleen T. Mango of Leetonia; two sisters, Regina "Ginny" (Tom) Kiliany of Leetonia and Christine (Brad) Wilson of Hanoverton; and a brother, Patrick A. Mango of Salem.
Nicholas was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John "Jack" L. Mango.
A private family event will be held at a later date.
