Columbiana - Neil Emerson Johnson, 92, formerly of the Youngstown area, died Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Hospice House, Poland.
Neil was born February 11, 1921, in Youngstown, a son of the late Charles V. and Mame Orr Johnson. He was the owner and operator of Neil E. Johnson Plumbing and Heating. He was a member of the Lockwood United Methodist Church, Youngstown. He was also a member and past master of the former Youngstown Lodge #615 F. & A.M. now the Wick Lodge. He served during WWII in the U.S. Army Air Force.
His wife the former, Mary E. Evans, whom he married September 7, 1944, died May 23, 1991.
He is survived by a son, Neil E. (Linda) Johnson of Ardmore, OK; a daughter, Jane Johnson of Salt Lake City, UT; two grandchildren, Jeremiah (Stacey) Johnson of Fort Worth, TX and Caleb Davis of Salt Lake City, UT; and four great grandchildren.
A brother, Edgar Johnson; a sister, Lola Andrews; a son-in-law, Scott Davis; and his companion, Margaret Cockman preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Lockwood United Methodist Church with Pastor David Hill officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Boardman. Friends may call from 12:30-2 p.m. on Saturday at the church prior to the service. Arrangements are being made by the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lockwood United Methodist Church or to the Hospice of the Valley.
