Nedra Jane Stockman Smith

Nedra Jane Stockman Smith died early Monday morning in her sleep at Parkside Health Care Center. She had been there just two days.

Nedra was born in Lisbon, Ohio, Nov. 23, 1921, the daughter of Carl and Nellie Stockman. She married Kenneth Smith in 1943 and the couple moved to Columbiana in 1945. Together, they raised all four of their children there - Tim, Tom, Kathy and Emily.

But there were many others who always thought of Nedra as their mother.

Nedra had a knack for her honest sense of humor and generous spirit. She will be missed by all those who loved her cute personality and giving ways. In her healthier years, she loved a good garage sale.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter, Anne McBride Smith.

Nedra is survived by her husband, Kenny; four children; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Two brothers and one sister also survive her.

There will be no calling hours.

The Reverend Steven K. Brown will officiate at a graveside service at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 14, in the Columbiana Cemetery.
