Salem - Neal Lonzo Brant, 22, of 1146 East Third Street, died Sunday, August 7, 2011, at his home.

Neal was born November 15, 1988 in Salem, a son of Derek A. and Paula B. Beagle Brant.

Neal is a 2007 graduate of Salem High School. He enjoyed playing football and baseball.

Neal worked in construction and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during Operation Iraqi Freedom. While serving he was awarded the Rifle Expert Badge, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.

He is survived by a daughter, Jenna Rouse and her mother, Brooke Rouse of North Carolina; his mother and father of Salem; maternal grandparents, Gary and Mary Beagle of Columbiana; paternal grandmother, Sandy Glass of East Rochester, paternal great grandmother, Alice Stevenson of Tennessee; a brother, Alex Brant of Salem; aunts and uncles, Darran and Lynnette (Beagle) Lee of Florida, Chris Beagle of Salem, and Chuckie Brant of Salem; and his cousins, Patrick Stockbridge, Jr. of Florida, Preston Beagle of Arizona, Sean Lee and Mia Lee both of Florida, and Isabella Brant and Xavier Brant both of Salem.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 12, 2011, at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with the Reverend Brian Jensen officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Salem. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2011, at the funeral home.
