Columbiana - Nancy C. Field, 76, 148 North West Street, died at 12:15 a.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at the Salem Community Hospital.

Mrs. Field was born June 18, 1935 at Westby, Wisconsin, a daughter of the late Stanley and Nora Noringseth Mockrud and had lived in Columbiana since 1970, coming from Wisconsin.

She was a homemaker and a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of J.L.C.W. She was an active member of the Columbiana Women's Music Study Club, the Salem Hills Women's Golf Association, and had served as a Girl Scout leader. She was an avid amateur artist working with many mediums including watercolors and ceramics. She also loved her collectable birds and eggs.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth W. Field, whom she married June 7, 1958; two daughters, Christine M. Davis of Lisbon and Kathryn L. Shelley of Anchorage, AK; her siblings, Nola Lindsay of Park Falls, WI, Annette Carlson, Karen Manion, Mary Pierce, and Roald Mockrud, all of Madison, WI, and Karl Mockrud of Aberdeen, Mississippi; six grandchildren, Kristofer Davis of Columbiana, Wyatt Davis of Lisbon, Holly Toalston of Alliance, William Davis of Lisbon, Sarah Shelley and Chas Shelley, both of Anchorage, AK; five great grandchildren, Rowan Toalston, Miles Davis, Larken Toalston, Abigail Davis, and Austin Smith of Anchorage.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joanne Elizabeth Field, sisters, Sally Parks and Katherine Mockrud.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Columbiana, with Pastor Sean Myers officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana and at the church one hour prior to the services on Saturday. Memorials may be directed to either the Jerusalem Lutheran Church or Hospice of the Valley.
