Myrtle Ovada Witt

Columbiana - April 15, 2008 - Myrtle Ovada Witt, 79, formerly of South Main Street, died at 5:10 a.m. Tuesday at the Parkside Health Care Center.

Mrs. Witt was born August 9, 1928 in Starke, FL, a daughter of Pate and Clyde M. Gassett and had lived in Columbiana most of her life, coming from North Lima.

She was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church, Columbiana. She had also served as a volunteer at the Salem Community Hospital.

Her husband, Kenneth Wade Witt, whom she married June 11, 1948 died September 23, 2007.

She is survived by three sons, David (Judy Mileti) Witt of North Royalton, OH, Randall Witt of Powder Springs, GA, and Alan (Joyce) Witt of Columbiana; a sister, Jewell Carson of Pittsburgh, PA; a brother, Coolidge Gassett of Starke, FL; two grandchildren, Devin Witt of Columbiana and Tina Alvarez of Atlanta, GA; and two great grandchildren, Collin Witt and Paige Witt.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana, with Mr. Clarence Mansfield, Minister, officiating. Burial will be in Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to either Meals on Wheels or Hospice of the Valley.
