Columbiana-Monty Armentrout, 74, passed away Tuesday morning, July 11, 2017 at Salem Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

Mr. Armentrout was born March 21, 1943 in Webster Springs, West Virginia, a son of the late Claude and Orva Gregory Armentrout and had lived in this area most of his life.

Monty was an estimator and engineer for various manufacturing companies in the area including NRM, Industrial Roofing, Poland Metal and Roth Brothers retiring in December of 2016.

He was a member of the First United Methodist of Columbiana where he had been a trustee and sang in the choir. He had been a member of Beaver Valley Golf League. He served with the Columbiana Fire Department for many years where he helped and participated in all aspects of the department. He most enjoyed spending time and watching his grandchildren's sporting events and activities.

He is survived by his wife, the former Margery Benner, whom he married May 19, 1963; his daughter, Monica (Mike) McDonough; his grandchildren, Michael McDonough and Marisa McDonough; and his brother, Michael (Lou) Armentrout of Tavares, FL.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Janice Leffler and Rosana Barry.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, July 17, 2017 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with Pastor Joshua Conley officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 4-7 pm Sunday, July 16, 2017 at the funeral home where the Columbiana Fire Department will honor Monty with the final call ceremony at 6:45 pm.

Friends will also be received from 10-11 am Monday before the service at the funeral home.
