Columbiana – Miriam C. Sitler, 84, died peacefully on Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at Briarcliff Manor, Middlefield.
She was born October 1, 1931 in North Lima, a daughter of the late Roscoe and Mildred Stouffer Crouse and had lived in the area all of her life.
Miriam was a lifelong member of Grace Church in Columbiana where she sang in the choir and had served as financial secretary for many years.
She had been the owner and operator of Sitler Hobby and Cycle Shop with her husband, Dale, until 1988 and enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. She will best be remembered as a woman who was devoted to her family and her church.
Her husband, Dale E. Sitler, whom she married January 17, 1953 died on April 18, 2015.
She is survived by her children, Stan Sitler of Nashville, TN, Gary Sitler of Lake Worth, FL, Scot (Sylvia) Sitler of Huntsburg, OH, and Amy Jenson of Cary, NC; a sister, Sandra (Leroy) Hostetter of Columbiana; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Miriam was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Crouse and a sister, Eleanor Crouse.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 6, 2016, at Grace Church, Columbiana, with the Rev. Dr. Robert C. Joy officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
