Milton M. Elwonger

East Palestine – Milton M. Elwonger, 95, of East Palestine, formerly of Columbiana, died Sunday, July 31, 2016 at The Meadows, East Palestine.

Mr. Elwonger was born June 26, 1921 in East Palestine, a son of the late Homer and Nettie Geppinger Elwonger and had lived in this area all of his life. He was a graduate of East Palestine High School and owned and operated Columbiana Floral and Hi-View Greenhouse for many years. He was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church, East Palestine and a former member of the Columbiana Rotary and also the Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded in death on November 3, 2015 by his wife, the former Betty Jane Brueckman, whom he married May 21, 1943.

He is survived a son, Vernon (Phyllis) Elwonger of Columbiana; a daughter, Margaret (Greg) Bradley of St. Augustine, FL; a sister, Ruth Bell of San Diego, CA; six grandchildren, Elizabeth (Imran) Salahuddin, Christine (Tom) Jurjovec, Austin Elwonger, Payton Elwonger, Savannah Elwonger, and Cheyenne Elwonger; and four great grandchildren, Griffin, Audrey, Raina, and Mahir.

Two sisters, Lucy Lindsey and Doris Dornan are also deceased.

Services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, August 5, 2016 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana, with Pastor Mark McTrustry officiating. Burial will be in Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-7:30 p.m. on Friday.
