Mildred L. Strohecker
East Palestine, OH-October 31, 2010-Mildred L. Strohecker, 96, of 573 State Line Road died at 5:50 p.m. Sunday at her home.
Mrs. Strohecker was born May 14, 1914 in Columbiana County, OH, a daughter of Homer and Hester Scarlott Ray and had lived in this area all of her life.
In high school, Mildred had been a basketball player for the former Fairfield High School. Mildred was a homemaker. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Community Church.
Her husband, Odous J. Strohecker, whom she married May 8, 1933 died February 25, 2003.
She is survived by a daughter, Betty Reiser of East Palestine; two sons, Harold (Joyce) Strohecker of Columbiana and Dale (Ellen) Strohecker of North Lima; twelve grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Marie Harding and Doris Strohecker, a sister, Elizabeth Rupert and three brothers, John, Leo and James Ray.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine with Pastor Joe Congemi officiating. Burial will be in Petersburg Cemetery. Friends may call from 10-11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
