New Springfield, OH-August 2, 2009-Mildred M. Seeger Altsman, 86, of Springfield Road passed away 6:40 a.m. Sunday at St. Elizabeth Boardman Campus.

Mrs. Altsman was born February 10, 1923 in Woodworth, a daughter of Ernest M. and Dorothy Paulin Harrold and had lived in this area all of her life.

Mildred worked as a cook for seventeen years for the Springfield Local School District and was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in New Springfield.

Her first husband, Galen A. Seeger, Sr., whom she married December 14, 1941, died in April 1966. Her second husband, Raymond Altsman, whom she married in November 1973, died in 1976.

She is survived by a daughter, Marsha (Buzz) Gebhardt of New Springfield; two sons, Robert (Diane) Seeger of New Springfield and Galen "Skip" (Marla) Seeger, Jr. of Petersburg; nine grandchildren, Mark (Stacee) Gebhardt, Michael Gebhardt, Matthew (Stephanie) Gebhardt, Melinda (Jamie) Singo, Marlene (Jeffery) Van Pelt, Jessie Seeger, Travis Williams, Sharon (David) Hartzler, John (Erica) Seeger; and eleven great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in New Springfield with Aimee Raymond, Minister officiating. Friends will be received from 6:30 -7:30 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Deters and a brother, Ross Harrold.
