Mildred Mary Pieren

Leetonia-January 20, 2007-Mildred M. Pieren, age 88, of 529 Chestnut Street, died at 4:10 a.m. Saturday at the Salem Community Hospital following a short illness.

Mrs. Pieren was born July 11, 1918 in Washingtonville, a daughter of James and Mary Burns Senior and had lived in this area all of her life. She was a homemaker and member of Washingtonville Robbins United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, John W. Pieren, whom she married October 10, 1942; a daughter, Mrs. Gary (Mary Ellen) Sloan of Columbiana; four sons, Richard (Mary Jane) Pieren and James (Molly) Pieren of Salem and Glenn Pieren and Ralph Jay Pieren of Leetonia; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Nora Barber and four brothers, Charles, Lebbie, Robert and John Senior.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia with the Reverend Enzie Wade officiating. Burial will follow in Washingtonville Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
