Michele Hiner

North Benton-Michele Hiner, 71, passed away Friday morning, December 1, 2017 at Altercare of Alliance Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing Care in Alliance.

Mrs. Hiner was born March 20, 1946 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Thomas and Virginia Bryson Danks and had lived in this area most of her life.

Michele had worked at the Walmart in Salem and also the McKeffrey Farm in Leetonia.

She is survived by her husband, Charles "Smiley" Hiner, Sr., whom she married December 4, 1963; a daughter, Angela Thomas of Alliance; a son, Charles (Crystal) Hiner, Jr. of Mogadore; three grandchildren, Toby Thomas, Josh Hiner and Amanda Hiner; and a great grandson, Dominic Schmidt and two step-grandchildren, Hayden Ostrowske and Hans Ostrowske.

She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Patricia Smith, Judy Davis and Virginia Willtrout and two brothers, Thomas and Laverne Danks.

Friends will be received from 5:30-7:30 pm Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana. A funeral service will be held at 7:30 pm Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating.
