Michael Gabor Borossa (77) went home to be with his Lord on Friday, May 9, 2014, at the St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center in Columbiana, Ohio.

Michael was born in Budapest, Hungary on March 18, 1937, to the late Michael P. and Isabella E. (Rakics) Borossa. When he was seven years old, they left Hungary due to the perilous conditions created there by WW II. They spent the next seven years in refugee camps in Austria, before receiving approval to immigrate to the USA.

In 1951 they arrived in New York City and 6 months later moved to Detroit. Michael graduated from St. Charles Borromeo High School, Detroit in 1954. In July, 1956, the family moved to Hollywood, CA where Michael and his father worked as mechanical engineers. Michael's specialty was heating and air conditioning. His engineering career spanned 40 years, working for various architects, engineering and defense contractors. For 26 of those years he worked at the Howard Hughes Research Facility in Malibu, CA, retiring from there in 1992.

Michael was a member of the Columbiana Baptist Church. He was an avid model railroader, enjoyed car mechanics, and studied politics and history, especially military history.

Michael is survived by his wife, Joyce (Walton) Borossa, whom he married May 20, 1995 in Garden Grove, CA; his sister, Catherine Jochai of Claremont, CA; his nephews, Kyle (Mariah) Jochai of Portland, OR, Jamie (Jeanette) Walton of Estherville, IA, Joseph (Amanda) Walton of Ravenna, OH; his niece, Ariella Jochai of Claremont, CA; 4 great nieces, Tifani, Adelaide, Amelia, and Andelyn Walton and 1 great-nephew, Chauncy Walton.
