Merri Palmon

Merri Palmon, age 43, of Leetonia, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, June 23, 2025.

She was born on May 24, 1982, in Salem, Ohio, the daughter of Anna Allcorn Stewart and Jason Vogel.

Merri truly lived life to the fullest. She had a radiant smile, a joyful spirit, and was always ready to dance away life’s stresses in the kitchen. She found happiness in baking and loved making enough food for a crowd—whether one was expected or not. Merri had a gift for crafting and was always working on a project or two around the house, never one to sit idle for long.

What brought her the most joy, however, was spending time with her children. Her kids were her world, her best friends, and her greatest pride. She was lovingly known as “Mimi” to the many animals in her life, and she gave them that same fierce and nurturing love. Merri’s warmth, laughter, and larger-than-life presence touched all who knew her. She was the light of so many lives, and that light continues to shine in a different way now.

Merri is survived by her three children, Hannah Eshenbaugh, Nathan Palmon, and Kayla (Stephen Zarlenga) Palmon, all of Leetonia; her sister, Meagan Vogel of East Palestine; her brother, Jason Grubbs of Lisbon; and her dear friend, Michael Roofner of Canfield. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Matthew Thomas Reidy, and her father, Jason Vogel.

A private celebration of life will be held to honor her tremendous life.

A burial of ashes will take place at Glenview Cemetery in East Palestine.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine.
