Melvin M. Shaw

New Waterford, OH-Melvin M. Shaw, 61, died suddenly at his home.

Mr. Shaw was born February 3, 1951 in Salem, OH, a son of Orval (Pete) and Helen Hasness Shaw and had lived in this area all of his life.

Mel had worked for Grief Brothers in Darlington, PA. He was also a real estate agent and an auctioneer. At one time he was a truck driver for Fed Ex and most recently was a salesman for Ron's Cars and Carts of New Waterford. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in East Palestine. He was an avid gardener and was active with the Mahoning County 4H. He loved camping.

Mel is survived by his three sons, Michael C. (Lisa) Shaw, David R. (Fran) Shaw and Matthew L. (Danielle) Shaw all of New Waterford, OH; two sisters, Darlene (Craig) Mulpas of Centerburg, OH, and Roberta (Raymond) Zeitler of Mesa, AZ; his former spouse Mary Ellen (Sugar) Shaw of New Waterford, OH; and two grandchildren, Jonathon Shaw and Grace Ann Shaw.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Lee Shaw.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, September 29, 2012, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, East Palestine with Reverend Stephen Wassie officiating. Friends will be received following the mass at the church. Burial will be in Salem Memorial Cemetery, Waterford Rd.,New Waterford, OH.
