Melvin S. Neuenschwander

New Waterford, OH – Melvin S. Neuenschwander, 86, died at 12:45 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2015 at his home.

He was born February 18, 1929 in Kidron, OH a son of the late Samuel and Lydia Zimmerly Neuenschwander.

Melvin had been a farmer and a member of Sharon Mennonite Fellowship where he served as a deacon since June 1, 1969.

His wife, the former, Anna Rebecca VanPelt, died July 13, 2005.

He is survived by four daughters, Lillian (Daniel) Halteman of Jonestown PA, Lois (Milton) Horst of Fredericksburg TX, Anna Mae (Royden) Halteman of Townville PA, and Edith (David) Sensenig of Richland PA; two sons, Earl (Lois) Neuenschwander of Kensington and Silas (Carol) Neuenschwander of New Waterford; 59 grandchildren and 39 great great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Esther and Idella Neuenschwander and Orpha and Sylvia Steiner; two brothers, Albert and Elmer Neuenschwander; and two grandsons, Marcus and Jerry Horst.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at Sharon Mennonite Fellowship, Green Beaver Road, Salem. Burial will follow in the Sharon Mennonite Fellowship Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the church.
