Salem, OH-Melahat O. Mavi, 89, of Salem formerly of Leetonia, died at 6:35 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at Essex of Salem I.
Mrs. Mavi was born August 5, 1923 in Istanbul, Turkey a daughter of Fehmi and Maise Ozkan and was a registered nurse.
Her husband, Argon Mavi, M.D., died February 19, 2003.
She is survived by a son, Emre Mavi of Salem.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 8, 2013 at Franklin Square Cemetery, Salem where burial will follow.
Arrangements were made by the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia.
