May L. Cyphert

East Palestine, OH- September 12, 2011-May L. Cyphert, 91, formerly of Wallace Ave. died at 3:45 a.m. Monday at Sterling House in Salem, OH.

Mrs. Cyphert was born May 1, 1920 in Beaver Falls, PA, a daughter of Joseph and Lois Howard Barrow and had lived in the East Palestine area since 1992 coming from Beaver Falls.

May had been a member of the First Christian Church in Beaver Falls, PA. She was a homemaker and currently a member of Abundant Life Fellowship in New Waterford, OH.

Her husband, George J. Cyphert, whom she married September 22, 1938, died July 22, 1984.

She is survived by her daughter, Pat Cyphert of East Palestine and her daughter and son-in-law Cheryl and Jon Barry Ensworth of Clearwater, FL; six grandchildren, G. Jay (Sandy) Nunamaker, Joni McElroy (George Cochran), John (Annette) Nunamaker, Stephanie (Todd) McCaslin, Clint (Nicole) Ensworth and Jonna Ensworth; fifteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Bernice Hartman and Lily Shumaker and a brother, Joseph Barrow.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Abundant Life Fellowship with Pastor Jeff Schoch officiating. Entombment will be in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park. Friends may call from 5:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine, OH and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
