East Palestine - March 16, 2005 - Mary M. Widdowfield, 87, of 350 West Clark Street, died at 6:58 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Youngstown.
Mrs. Widdowfield was born December 25, 1917 in East Palestine, a daughter of the late William Arthur and Maude Ward Blower and had lived here all of her life.
She had been employed at various potteries in the area, last working for East Palestine China.
She was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, the VFW Auxiliary and the Fraternal Order of Eagle Auxiliary, all of East Palestine.
He husband, Paul Widdowfield, whom she married March 29, 1947 died February 8, 1976.
She is survived by her friend and companion, John J. Ferenchak of Youngstown and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Margaret Blower, Marcella Butler, Wyoma Heaton, and Elnora Reese and eight brothers, John Blower, Lafayette Blower, Sam Blower, Alan Blower, William Arthur Blower, Jr., Eugene Blower, Donald Blower, and Everett Blower.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home, East Palestine, with Mr. Robert Helbeck, Minister of the First Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow in Glenview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday.
