Columbiana, OH- Mary Eva (Guindon) Stanley passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2012 after a long illness.

A birthright member of the Religious Society of Friends, Quakers; Mary Eva was a member of Middleton Friends Meeting. Mary Eva was born in 1926 in Wheeling, WV and grew up in Tacoma near Barnesville, Ohio. She was the eldest daughter of the late Albert and Bertha (Hall) Guindon.

Mary Eva was married 57 years to the late Wilmer "Starch" Stanley of Columbiana. Following graduation in 1944 from Olney Friends School, Mary Eva moved to Columbus, Ohio where she attended and graduated from Bliss College. Her work life included employment with Deming Pump Co.; Eveready Gas Company and as child care provider. Mary Eva is remembered for her desire to live a conscientious Christian life, her love of family, children and the connections to her brothers and sister, nieces and nephews and grandchildren. Mary Eva`s vocation in life was to be of service to others.

She is survived by her three daughters, Christine (Randy) Gerber, of Pawleys Island, SC; Karen (Bill) Campf of Washingtonville; Darlene Stanley of Greensboro, NC; 5 grandchildren, W. Jeremy (Ericka) Campf, Christy Campf, Megan Stanley, Jesse Garvin and Christopher Gerber; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Wilford Guindon of Costa Rica; and a sister, Sara (Guindon) Kirk of Adena, OH.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana. Private family interment will be in the Middleton Friends Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the services.

The family would like to recognize St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center, for their loving care of Mary Eva since 2003.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be given in her name to the St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center or Hospice of the Valley.
