Mary T. Snyder

Columbiana-Mary T. Snyder, 89, formerly of North Middle Street died Saturday evening, July 2, 2011, at Masternick Memorial Health Care Center, New Middletown.

She was born October 14, 1921 in Struthers, daughter of George and Sophia Klotz Tabak and moved to Columbiana in 1959.

During WWII Mary welded tank treads at the former Truscon Steel Company in Youngstown and later worked as a cashier in many grocery stores. She was an office worker for the former Fisher Printing Company in Columbiana for 20 years. She was a member of the Jerusalem Lutheran Church and the Columbiana Dance Club.

Mary was preceded in death by three husbands, on January 26, 1957 by Vasil Maximov whom she married June 7, 1941; on September 6, 1981 by G. Charles Fisher whom she married September 19, 1959; and on February 12, 2010 by Joseph Kale Snyder whom she married September 28, 1985.

Surviving is her two step daughters, Linda (Ned) Wright of Columbus and Carol (Stan) Crosser of Colleyville, TX; a step son, Richard "Dick" Fisher of Leetonia; a sister; Katherine (Tom) Urdea of Poland; many nieces and nephews; step-grandchildren and two sisters-in-law.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Michael Tabak.

Services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with Pastor Paul Burgeson officiating. Burial will be in the Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
