Leetonia - August 16, 2009 - Mary Ann Ray, 75, of 40514 SR 344, died at 9:00 p.m. Sunday at Hospice House in Poland, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Ray was born June 3, 1934 in Salem, a daughter of the late Joseph A. and Barbara A. Meissner Sevenich and had lived in this area all of her life. She was a homemaker and had also owned and operated the former Leetonia Country Gardens Florist and D & D Sales along with her husband, Dean.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church where she had been very active and also worked with the Columbiana Meals on Wheels.
Her husband, Dean D. Ray, whom she married June 1, 1957 died August 19, 2003.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Kevin (Debra) Baker of New Waterford; two sons, David (Karen) Ray of Leetonia and Daniel (Amy) Ray of Salem; four sisters, Mrs. Therese Terlesky of Boardman, Mrs. Barbara Magalotti of Ashtabula, Mrs. Stephen (Martha) Barton and Mrs. Janel Anderson, both of Salem; three brothers, Vincent Sevenich of Leetonia, James Sevenich of Wheaton, IL, and Michael Sevenich of Lisbon; six grandchildren, Kurt, Keith, Kasey and Kaleb Baker, Kelsie and Darren Ray; and three great grandchildren, Alexa Jones and Kailey and Brianna Baker.
A brother, Joseph Sevenich is also deceased.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Reverend Thomas Eisweirth officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia, where a wake service will be held at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday.
