Mary E. Onigkeit

Euclid - Mary E. Onigkeit, 96, of 25900 Euclid Avenue, formerly of Leetonia, died at 2:10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011 at Altercare of Mayfield Village.

Mrs. Onigkeit was born November 3, 1914 in Leetonia, a daughter of George and Annie Blackburn King. She had been employed as a food handler at the Hawkins School in Gates Mills for 17 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of Mayfield United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Dorothea Nietzel of Euclid and a son, Allan G. Onigkeit of Fort Collins, CO; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ludwig Onigkeit; a sister, Amy King and a brother, John King.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011 at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia, with the Reverend Kari Lankford officiating. Burial will follow in Washingtonville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday.
