Mary Elizabeth Mollenkopf

East Palestine - Mary Elizabeth Mollenkopf, age 69, of East Palestine, died on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Covington Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on August 6, 1947 in Cleveland, a daughter of the late Robert and Mary Ann Kubelavic Oliver.

Mary had a degree in fashion merchandising and worked for various retail clothing stores. She also altered prom dresses and bridal gowns. In recent years, Mary worked as an LPN for Ashley Place in Austintown and then as an RN for St. Elizabeth Health Care Center in Youngstown, retiring in 2011.

She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in East Palestine, Unity Grange and the East Palestine Garden Club, and had formerly belonged to the Unity Ruritans and the ESA Sorority.

She enjoyed quilting, sewing and flower gardening. She also enjoyed reading and beach vacations. Mostly, Mary loved spending time with her family, especially with her two granddaughters.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas P. Mollenkopf whom she married on December 27, 1969; two sons, David (Jennifer) Mollenkopf of East Palestine and Douglas (Gwenna) Mollenkopf of East Palestine. Also surviving are her beloved granddaughters, Victoria "Tori" and Abigail "Abi" Mollenkopf.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 from 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Centenary United Methodist Church, East Palestine.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Mark McTrustry officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Centenary United Methodist Church, 40 South Market St., East Palestine, OH 44413.
