Mary Elizabeth Metze
New Waterford-January 23, 2008- Mary E.Metze, age 84, of 3780 Boardman St. died at 5:51 p.m. Wednesday at Salem Community Hospital following a long illness.
Mrs. Metze was born March 1, 1923 in Negley, a daughter of William and Mary Bricker Hutson and had lived in this area all of her life. She was a homemaker and member of the former Valley of Achor Baptist Church, Negley.
Her husband, Floyd Metze, whom she married May 16, 1957, died October 28, 1997.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara (Brian) Coppock of New Waterford; three stepsons, George (Clara) Metze of Rogers and Jerry Metze and Thomas Metze both of North Lima; a sister, Vivian (Herman) Gorby of Columbiana; seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
A sister, Marie Raley and a brother, William Hutson preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with Reverend Charles Ready officiating. Burial will follow in New Waterford Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
