Enon Valley, PA-August 21, 2009-Mary "Evelyn" (Martsolf) McRoberts, 78, of Enon Valley, PA passed away Friday in her home surrounded by her family.
She was born March 19, 1931. Evelyn resided in Enon Valley most of her life where she provided a loving home for her family.
She will be sadly missed by her devoted husband, Ross, whom she married November 18, 1950. She was a loving mother to her daughter, Debbie McRoberts and her son and daughter in law, Dean and Jane McRoberts. She was a wonderful grandmother to her grandchildren, Lori Yhelka, Lisa and Jon Gray and Dan McRoberts. She was the greatest great grandma to her only great grandchild, Carson Gray.
Evelyn's passion was her family and she loved to gather everyone together as often as she could. Her other interests were reading, word finds and playing games on the computer and she loved to sing, especially with her sisters.
Evelyn was a member of Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church in Darlington, PA. She served as an elder until her illness kept her from fulfilling the duties of the office.
She also leaves behind her sisters and brothers in law, Winnie and Norman Elder and Arlene and Louis Farioli, a brother in law, Lyle Gwin, a sister in law, Barbara McRoberts and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Ethel Welsh Martsolf, her in laws, Herbert and Eleanor McRoberts, a sister, Jean Gwin and a brother in law, Herbert McRoberts.
The family would like to thank everyone connected in the care of Evelyn. Their compassion during this illness never went unnoticed. We want to thank the nurses and staff of Liberty Dialysis Center, Chippewa, The Medical Center of Beaver County and Mother Theresa Hospice. We would especially like to thank Dr. Kalenak for his kindness during his years of service and to all the other doctors who cared for her.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Saul officiating. Interment will follow at Little Beaver Cemetery.
