Mary Diane Mackall

New Waterford - December 8, 2006 - Mary Diane Mackall, age 90, formerly of New Waterford, died at 4:25 a.m. Friday at the Hospice House in Poland. She had resided at the Twin Oaks Retirement Center, Salem the past 18 months.

Mrs. Mackall was born July 18, 1916 in Altman Boro, Indiana County, PA, a daughter of Angelo and Anna Cossalter Sacchet and had lived in the New Waterford area most of her life.

She had been employed as a substitute postal clerk at the New Waterford Post Office for 18 years. She was a Methodist by faith.

Her husband, Gilbert J. Mackall, whom she married October 10, 1936 died May 24, 2003.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. James (Pam) Crawford and Mrs. Ronald (Janice) Costanzo, both of New Waterford; a sister, Alvie Sacchet of Poland; a brother, Rudy (Joan) Sacchet of Columbiana; four grandchildren, Karen Gliniecki, David Crawford, James (Denise) Costanzo, and Robert (Wendy) Costanzo; and nine great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a grandson, James Huston; two sisters, and one brother.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Burns Memorial Chapel in Glenview Cemetery, East Palestine, with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating. Burial will follow in Glenview Cemetery. There are no calling hours.

If friends desire, material tributes may take the form of a donation to Hospice of the Valley. Funeral arrangements were made by the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home, East Palestine.
