Mary I. Kimble

Columbiana - Mary I. Kimble, 96, of Sponseller Road, died at 4:15 a.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at the Salem Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Kimble was born January 15, 1920 on the family farm in Elkton, a daughter of the late Valda Ross and Grace Louise Welch Simkins and had lived in this area most of her life. She was a 1938 graduate of Lisbon High School. She was a homemaker, a member of the First Christian Church of Columbiana, and was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Columbiana. She loved to sew, was an avid reader and enjoyed her family. She also enjoyed gardening and watching birds.

Her husband, Gerald L. Kimble preceded her in death December 7, 1956.

She is survived by a daughter, Nancy L. Myers of Columbiana; a son, Dennis L. (Linda) Kimble of Columbiana, with whom she made her home; a sister, Shirley Welther of Columbiana; a brother, Larry (Ellen) Simkins of Tucson, AZ; 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.

A son, Gerald A. Kimble, a sister, Helen Kyser, and a brother, Ralph Simkins are also deceased.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 19, 2016 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana, with Mr. John Reed, Minister officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday and also one hour prior to the services on Friday.
