Mary Jane (Dodson) Burrell

Columbiana - Mary Jane Burrell, age 90, of Columbiana, died on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Whispering Pines Village, Columbiana.

She was born on January 18, 1934, a daughter of the late David and Evelyn Stratton Dodson.

Mary Jane will be remembered as a woman who had a passion for both church and singing.  She was a member of New Springfield Church of God and enjoyed singing at various locations within her community.  Mostly, she will be remembered as a kind person who loved everyone she met.

Her husband, William Lester Burrell, whom she married on February 1, 1969, preceded her in death on, November 4, 2013.

Mary Jane is survived by her three sisters, Patricia Cope, Dawn Rance, and Shirley Johns all of Columbiana; a step-son, John Burrell of Youngstown, and several step grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Russell Dodson, three step-sons, Joey Burrell, Andrew Burrell, and James Burrell, and a step-daughter, Leslie K. McCutcheon.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.

Services will be held on Tuesday, at 11:00 am, at the funeral home with Pastor James Carmany officiating.

Burial will take place at Columbiana Cemetery, Columbiana.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
