Mary Ellen Detwiler

COLUMBIANA - Mary Ellen (Huskin) Detwiler, formerly of Mount Lebanon, PA, and Columbiana, OH, died Saturday, February 26, 2011, at Asbury Heights (Mount Lebanon), at the age of 92.

Mrs. Detwiler was born on July 16, 1918, in Mercer, PA, to Richard and Nina (Law) Huskin. She was married for 59 years to Mr. Robert H. Detwiler, of Columbiana, who died in Salem, OH, in 2001.

She is survived by Nancy D. and Michael J. Jones, of St. Paul, MN, John S. and Claudia B. Detwiler (Pittsburgh, PA), and Robert W. Detwiler (Jacksonville, NC), and by five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and sister-in-law Jane D. Sutherin of East Palestine and Columbus, OH. She was preceded in death by, in addition to her husband, two sisters, two brothers, and one grandson.

For most of their married life, Mr. and Mrs. Detwiler were members of the Mount Lebanon Methodist Church, in Pittsburgh; they retired to Columbiana where they were members of the First United Methodist Church.

A memorial service is to be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Asbury Heights, 700 Bower Hill Road, Pittsburgh and private burial in Columbiana Cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana, OH,
