East Palestine - May 16, 2008 - Mary Elizabeth Booth, 96, formerly of East Martin Street, died at 10:50 a.m. Friday at Assumption Village where she had been living since 1999.
Mrs. Booth was born May 31, 1911 in East Palestine, a daughter of Max and Sadie Shultz Neubauer and had lived in this area all of her life. She was a homemaker and member of the First United Presbyterian Church of East Palestine. She was also a member of Pandora Rebekah Lodge #743 of Columbiana and East Palestine Chapter #381 Order of the Eastern Star.
Her husband, Rolland M. Booth, whom she married October 22, 1934 died September 8, 1998.
She is survived by a daughter, Carol Ann (James) Garrod of Salem; a son, Wayne (Judy) Booth of Clarkson; three grandchildren, Leslie Booth, Mark Booth, and Bruce Wolf; and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine with Pastor Donald Aull officiating. Burial will follow in Glenview Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Material tributes may be made to the Memorial Fund of the First United Presbyterian Church.
