Mary E. Beilhart

Salem-Mary E. Beilhart, 85, died at 1:15 pm on Thursday, November 7, 2013, at Essex I of Salem following a long illness.

Mrs. Beilhart was born August 20, 1928 in Springfield, OH, a daughter of Paul and Hilda Heckelman Baldridge, and had lived in this area most of her life.

Mary was a librarian for the Salem Public Library for 25 years. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Leetonia. She enjoyed teaching speech and theater and directed school plays at Leetonia Schools. Mary also enjoyed reading and jigsaw puzzles. She served as president of the resident council for Essex I.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Howard "Ike" Beilhart; her daughter, Wendy (Clarence) Sternagle of Salem; a brother, Paul (Barbara) Baldridge of Columbus; two grandchildren, Jeremy Sternagle and Devin Sternagle; and a great granddaughter, Chloe Sternagle.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 pm Thursday, November 14, 2013 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Leetonia with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating. Friends may call from 3:30-5 pm at the church.

Contributions in memory of Mary may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or the Activity Department of Essex of Salem.
