East Palestine - Martin "Marty" Wolf, age 75, died on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Christian House in East Palestine.
Marty was born on May 15, 1951, in Salem, son of the late Martin "Sonny" and Julia Smith Wolf.
He had worked as a truck driver for many companies retiring from Great Lakes Synergy in 2013. He had been a member of the former Grace Lutheran Church and also attended Centenary United Methodist Church. He had been a member of East Palestine Ski Club with a group of friends. He attained the rank of Eagle Scout and was a member of the Moose Lodge #467 East Palestine. He was avid supporter of East Palestine sports following his family and friends. Marty will always be remembered by his family and friends for his sense of humor and his favorite sayings, “What a Deal!” and “What a Hoot!”
Marty is survived by his spouse, Nancy Smith Wolf, whom he married on June 30, 1973; his daughter, Meredith McLaughlin of East Palestine; his son, Eric Wolf of Lakewood; his sister, Debra (Ron) Hanolt of East Palestine; sister-in- law, Sharon Wolf of Salem; two grandchildren, Seth McLaughlin, Zoë McLaughlin; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ian Robert Wolf, a sister, Molly Kapeluck and a brother, Dale Wolf.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, 12:00 pm at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home East Palestine, with Pastor Cindy Figley officiating.
Burial will take place in Glenview Cemetery.
