Leetonia - Martha Lee Weikart, 95, of Leetonia, died at 6:38 a.m. Sunday, January 4, 2015 at her home following a short illness.
Miss Weikart was born October 24, 1919 in Leetonia, a daughter of the late Warren and Leora Thorpe Weikart and had lived here all of her life. She operated the former Weikart Grocery Store until it closed in 1984. She was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Leetonia. She loved music and played for the Sunday School and later the organ at St. Paul's.
She is survived by a sister, Helen McCoy of Leetonia; several nieces and nephews including Greg (Judy) McCoy, Bruce (Mary Kay) McCoy, Jim (Crystal) Weikart, Cindy Weikart, Tom (Cindy) Weikart, Susan Weikart, Cathy (Tom) Fitzsimmon, and Marilyn (Jerry) Mong; and a loyal friend and caregiver, Bob Donnally.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, June Ziegler, and two brothers, Dean and Joseph Weikart.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Saturday, January 10, 2015 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Leetonia with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 12 Noon on Saturday at the church. Funeral arrangements were made by the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia. Memorial tributes may be made to the St. Paul's Lutheran Church Organ Fund.
