Martha Jane Garrity

Columbiana-January 20, 2007-Jane Garrity, age 73, of 110 Bittersweet Drive died at 3:00 a.m. Saturday at the Salem Community Hospital.

Mrs. Garrity was born December 20, 1933 in Columbiana, a daughter of Homer and Catherine Shearer Zimmerman and had lived in this area all of her life.

She was a homemaker and member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Columbiana. She was also a member of the Ladies Oriental Shrine in Cleveland. Jane was an avid bridge player and participated in several local bridge clubs.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald W. Garrity, whom she married June 2, 1956; two sons, Rick (Brenda) Garrity of Columbiana and Jeff (Jayne) Garrity of Grand Ledge, MI; three sisters, LaNorma Shirey, Mrs. Robert (Vivian) Wenderoth, Mrs. Darrell (Joan) Gaskill all of Columbiana; three grandsons, Brian (Traci) Garrity, Colby Garrity and his fiancAC. Leslie Aker and Lee Garrity.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Cross and a brother Larry Zimmerman.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home, Columbiana with the Reverend David H. Conrad of the church officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
