Salem - Marie Naomi Viola, 85, of 165 South Madison Street, died at 11:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at her home.
Mrs. Viola was born September 19, 1925 in Leetonia, a daughter of the late Clarence and Oma Murray Esterly and had live in this area all of her life. She had been employed as a secretary for Attorney Jim Taus and Attorney George Bowman for several years. She had also owned and operated Trunks N Treasures in Salem for many years. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Salem.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony Viola whom she married July 18, 1964; a stepson, Michael (Pamela) Viola of Salem; and one grandson, Keith Viola.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Minnetta Claunch.
Private burial took place Thursday, August 18, 2011 in Oakdale Cemetery, Leetonia. Arrangements were made by the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia.
Memorial contributions may be made to either the Catherine Viola Memorial Fund at the Salvation Army of Salem, MVI Hospice, or the Salem Area Visiting Nurses.
