Marie L. Hoover

Columbiana, OH-July 17, 2004-Marie L. Hoover, age 69, of 21 Beechwood Drive, died at 9:55 p.m. Saturday at Salem Community Hospital of an apparent heart attack.

Mrs. Hoover was born August 6, 1934 in Struthers, OH, a daughter of James E. and Mary Grace Peebles Dean and had lived in this area most of her life.

She was a clerk for Stow Jewelers, Stow, OH for 12 years and also for the former Martha's Vogue Shop of Columbiana. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Columbiana where she sang in the church choir for 50 years.

She had been a member of the former Columbiana Music Study Club.

She is survived by her husband, Howard Lee Hoover, whom she married August 19, 1951; a daughter, Mrs. Gary (Cindy) Birmingham of Industry, PA; two sons, Robert (Debbie) Hoover of Kent, OH and Tim Hoover of Annandale, VA; a sister, Mrs. Edward (Sandra) Dailey of Columbiana; a brother, James C. Dean of Naples, FL; four grandchildren, James and Gary John Birmingham and Matthew and Lauren Hoover; and her best friend Sally Bricker.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald J. Dean.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home, Columbiana with the Reverend Steven K. Brown officiating.

Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
