Leetonia - Marian H. Holloway, 88, of 38025 SR 558, died at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, June 26, 2011 at Whispering Pines Village, Columbiana.

Mrs. Holloway was born August 31, 1922 in Salem, a daughter of the late John F. and Nellie B. Hickling Helt and had lived in this area all of her life. She had been employed as a secretary at Leetonia Tool Company for 39 years.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church where she had taught Sunday School for many years. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the VFW Auxiliary, the former Our Community Club, and had been active in Girl Scouts.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne J. "Pete" Holloway, whom she married May 12, 1943; two daughters, Dena (Merwyn "Burr") Garwood of Columbiana and Dawn E. (Greg) Chepke of Leetonia; a son, Dennis J. (Suzanne) Holloway of Leetonia; a sister, Betty Helt of Columbiana; five grandchildren, Sean J. (Jessica) Holloway, Shannon L. (Mark) Ingram, Tara D. (Craig) Muntean, Keri D. (Nick) Stevens, and Kelli L. Chepke; and three great grandchildren, Jack, Hailey, and Kathryn.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, J. Leland Helt and Paul "Ted" Helt.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Leetonia with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:30 am until 11:00 am Tuesday at the church.

Memorial tributes may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Arrangements were made by the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia.
