Columbiana - M. Joan Gaskill, age 92, of Columbiana, died on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at Windsor House at Parkside Health Care Center, Columbiana.
She was born on December 20, 1933, in Salem, OH, daughter of the late Homer and Catharine Shearer Zimmerman.
Joan was an active member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Columbiana, in her younger years she sang in the choir and was a part of various women’s groups. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, vegetable garden, canning and baking. She joined her friends weekly for coffee and was involved in a card club. Joan loved her family above all and cherished the time she spent with them.
Her husband, Daryl Gaskill, preceded her in death on, May 14, 2015.
Joan is survived by her five children, David (Alice Cazan) Gaskill of Palm Coast, FL, Norma (Howard) Stouffer of Columbiana, Laura (Ron Simon) Gaskill of Columbiana, Michael (Lisa) Gaskill of Salem and Greg (Josie) Gaskill of Canton, GA; Six grandchildren, Matthew Stouffer, Justin (Anna) Stouffer, Robert (Brooke) Gaskill, Eden (Cameron) Barnett, Amanda Barton and Michael (Bobbie Lester) Gaskill Jr. and Sixteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Evelyn Cross, LaNorma Shirey, Vivian Wenderoth and her twin sister, Jane Garrity, a brother, Larry Zimmerman; a grandson, Chad Stouffer and a grandson-in-law, Nick Barton.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
A private graveside service will take place at Columbiana Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Jerusalem Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 415 South Main St. Columbiana, OHO 44408.
