Lottie Marie Stahl

Columbiana - Lottie Marie Stahl age 97, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2009 while residing at Woodland Country Manor, Somerville, Ohio. She had resided in the Middletown area for four years, coming from Columbiana.

She was born June 4, 1911 in Mill Run, PA, a daughter of George and Freida Pagan Arsenberger. Lottie worked for over 60 years as a co-owner of Stahl's Coal and Builder Supply. In 1999, Lottie and her husband Homer were honored by the Columbiana Chamber of Commerce for both the "Lifetime of Service" and "Business of the Year Award", an honor that both appreciated. She was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Columbiana.

She is survived by one daughter, Sandra (Leon) Simpson of Middletown; three grandchildren, Heather (Jim) Spurlino of Dayton, Erin (Phil) Sloan of Middletown, and Adam Simpson of Baltimore, MD; one great grandchild, Morgan Sloan; three nephews, Robert Arsenberger of Mill Run, PA, Daun Arsenberger of York, PA, and John Arzbacher of Connellsville, PA.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Homer C. Stahl, her parents, and siblings, Otto Arsenberger, Omar Arzbacher, Fritz Arsenberger, and Dora Hart.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with Reverend Dennis Asp officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10-11:30 a.m. on Thursday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Columbiana or to Capital University in Columbus, Ohio.
