Lona Mary Tancer
East Palestine-April 26, 2007-Lona Mary Tancer, age 74, of 50040 State Route 14 died Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at her home.
Mrs. Tancer was born April 16, 1933 in New Waterford, OH a daughter of Luther C. and Mildred Beight Upole and had lived in this area since 1980 coming from California. She was a nurse's aide in the emergency room for the Salem Community Hospital for 12 years retiring in 1999. She had also worked as a counselor for various rehabilitation centers in the area and was a member of Abundant Life Fellowship in New Waterford.
She is survived by her son, Dan (Paula) Tancer of North Jackson; a sister, Lois Rambo of East Palestine; a brother, Delmar Upole of East Palestine and one granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Dwight Upole. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2007 at Abundant Life Fellowship, New Waterford with Donald A. Stevenson, Pastor officiating. Friends may call from 3-5 p.m. at the church. Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home, East Palestine is in charge of arrangements.
