Lois L. Coie

Columbiana, May 3, 2004, Lois L. Coie, age 89, of 937 East Park Avenue, died at 3:28 a.m. Monday at her home at Whispering Pines Village.

Mrs. Coie was born March 28, 1915 in Ellensburg, Washington, a daughter of Clayton M. and Emily L. Whittendale Armstrong and had lived in this area all of her life. She was a homemaker and along with her husband, operated the Grandview Dairy Farm on Roller Coaster Road, Lisbon. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Columbiana, Columbiana County Farm Bureau and the Columbiana County Extension.

Her husband, Walter H. Coie, whom she married July 11, 1934 died September 8, 1993.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Jane Anne) Adams of Lisbon; three sons, John W. (Cheryl) Coie of Rogers, James R. (Patricia) Coie of Upland, CA, and David A. Coie of Columbiana; a sister, Helen Huston of Tacoma, Washington; 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Two sisters, Mary Jane Messenger and Bessie Bunger are also deceased.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home, Columbiana, with the Reverend Robert Miller of the Rogers United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Lisbon Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1-2 p.m. on Friday.
