Lois Irene Brooks

Lisbon - Lois Irene Brooks, 81, of Lisbon, died at 10:45 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2012 at the Northside Medical Center, Youngstown after a short illness.

Mrs. Brooks was born on March 17, 1931 in Columbiana, a daughter of the late Joseph and Zora E. Trotter Dishong and had lived in this area all of her life. She attended Columbiana High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Leetonia.

Her husband, Franklyn H. Brooks, Sr., whom she married September 25, 1948 died March 12, 1996.

She is survived by two daughters, Pamela (Bob) Crites of Norwalk and Barbara (Gary) Andres of Salem; two sons, Franklyn H. Brooks, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL and James (Margaret) Brooks of Memphis, TN; a sister, Helen DeLucia of Columbiana; nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Elizabeth A. Crites.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 31, 2012 at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia with Pastor Ashley McMillin officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. Sunday.
