Linda E. Spears

New Waterford - Linda E. Spears, Age 78, of New Waterford, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, August 19, 2017.

She was born August 9, 1939 in Enon Valley, PA, a daughter of the late Samuel and Waunetta Roshon Hogue.

Linda was a homemaker and a member of the First Church of Christ, East Palestine. She enjoyed planting flowers, gardening taking care of her dogs and horses as well caring for children. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Her husband, Charles B. Spears, whom she married, July 30, 1961, preceded her in death on, November 21, 2010.

Linda is survived by her son, Charles Allen (Herminnia) Spears, Jr. of Gaithersburg, MD; two daughters, Christina (Kent) Baker of New Waterford and Lori Garrett of New Waterford; a brother, James Hogue of Columbiana; three sisters, Pat Nelson of Columbiana, Kathy Hooker of Tonapa, AZ and Marcia Carr of Canfield; Seven grandchildren, Blacky Spears, Jasun, Justin and Jacob Baker and Zachary, Jackelyn and Mackenzie Garrett; three great grandchildren Gracie Baker, Kendall Kiewall, Clayton Andrews and two more on the way.

She was preceded in death by a son, Lonnie Spears and a brother, Larry Hogue.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine, with Robert J. Helbeck, Minister officiating. Friends and Family may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens.
